III PLUM AND PRUNE WORKING GROUP MEETING
Present Constraints of Plum Growing in Europe
Until 24 July 2015
August 20th – 21st 2015
Skopelos Island Greece
Mamma mia's island
The meeting will be held in the beautiful Island of Skopelos, which is located in the Aegean Sea, not far from continental Greece. Lying between Skiathos and Alonnissos, Skopelos is the second island in the Northern Sporades chain. Skopelos can be reached via the small airport on the neighboring Island of Skiathos, which is connected by Mistral Air, Finair, Alitalia, Meridiana, Cyprus Airways, Air Serbia, Germania, SAS, Blue Panorama, Livingston, Tarom, Sky Express, Volotea, Olympic Airways, Bingo Air, Condor, Lauda, Travel Service, Niki, Aegean Airways, Thomson Airways, Monarch, Airberlin, Transavia, and Thomas Cook Airlines. Ferry Boats and Speed Boats connect the two islands all day long. The charge is about 30 Euro per person. Another way of transportation is to fly to Thessaloniki or Volos (Aghialos) Airports and then take the ferry boat to Skopelos. If you land in Athens, you can go by car or by bus to Aghios Konstantinos port (St. Constantine), or to Mantoudi port (Evoia) and take the ferry boat to Skopelos. If you come by car, taking your car by ferry boat is possible but costly. Is better to park your car in Volos at ferry boat departing port and take it back at return. For more initial details on transportation issues, please read the attached leaflets.
